Nancy Koester is the Research Manager in the Community Research Institute at the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Mich. She is responsible for designing and implementing applied social research and evaluation for community-based program and initiatives.

Koester joined the Johnson Center in 2010 as the lead evaluator for the Community Family Partnership, a SAMHSA System of Care grant for Kent County, and the Kent School Services Network evaluation, a Community Schools Initiative in Kent County. Previously she was an evaluator for Colorado WIN Partners at the University of Colorado Denver.

Koester holds master’s degree in organizational and community psychology from North Carolina State University. She is interested in research and systems initiatives for reducing social inequalities.
